°2001, Belgium

After five years of studying art history at the University of Ghent, GustavAdam Dendooven is eager to explore new ways of creating unique visitor experiences as a curator. Driven by a deep curiosity and fascination with the individual's interaction with art, he seeks to better understand the dynamics at play when one experiences an exhibition. He views curating as a subtle role in shaping these experiences, believing that while the curator influences the outcome, their impact should not be overtly visible. Instead, the final exhibition should convey a strong sense of totality.

Through his experience supporting and organizing projects with local artists, GustavAdam has learned that clear communication and social collaboration are essential to the success of any project. In practice, he emphasizes the importance of fostering positive and inclusive working environments for everyone involved. He approaches curating as a social practice that acknowledges its limitations, aiming to overcome them through collaborative efforts and striving to achieve a sense of wholeness and completeness in every exhibition.
