Hanna Júlia Erdősi
°1997, Hungary
Hanna Júlia Erdősi is an art historian originally from Budapest, Hungary. During her studies, she was introduced to traditional scholarly methods in art history, which were complemented by a minor in aesthetics, broadening her knowledge in a more conceptual direction. Building on her educational background in Orientalism, she specialized her thesis on 17th-century Japanese art, diverging from the Eurocentric curriculum.
After obtaining her degree from Eötvös Loránd University Budapest (ELTE) in 2022, she relocated to Antwerp to undertake a year-long internship at Fred & Ferry Gallery. As part of a small team, she gained insight into the key aspects of running a commercial gallery, participating in its organizational, curatorial, and practical operations. Following this experience, Hanna shifted her focus toward more research-based work. In the latter half of 2023, she contributed informational and exhibition texts for Plus-One Gallery in Antwerp and Ontsteking in Ghent.
Currently, she works as an editorial assistant at Tique Art Magazine and Space in Antwerp, where her responsibilities include writing articles and organizing events for the space.
