Léane Lloret

°1999, France

Born in 1999 in Grenoble, France, Léane Lloret lives and works in Brussels. In 2021, she graduated from the École du Louvre - Palais du Louvre, Paris, where she specialized in Fashion and Costume History and assisted the curator of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs with the exhibition Des cheveux et des poils. After a brief period at ENSAV La Cambre in the Fashion Design department, she returned to her primary focus on images and objects.

Her three years of experience at Saint-Martin Bookshop in Brussels facilitated her transition into curation, particularly through the artist's book, and she organized several exhibitions with artists. In 2023, Léane also contributed to the programming at Mercerie, Brussels, and performed for Olivia Bretheau as part of her multidisciplinary Sophrology project.

Due to her eclectic background, Léane considers her eyes to be her main source of inspiration. Her work often employs metaphor and is rooted in concepts, historical references, sociology, memory, and material testimonies, aiming to create narratives from “what remains.” She is especially interested in the relationships between time and space, context and gesture.
