Nina Turina

°1997, Croatia

Nina Turina is a visual artist and graphic designer based in Croatia. She completed her Master's degree in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp, Belgium. In 2023, she founded Studio Nooon, a creative design studio focused on collaborating with creatives across Europe in the fields of culture, arts, and education, to effectively and strategically communicate their stories.

Simultaneously, she nurtures her visual arts practice, dedicated to exploring questions of borders, identity and memory through various mediums, from photography and video work to installation and artist’s books. Her work was exhibited in Croatia, Spain, and Belgium, with her most recent solo exhibition, "Four Corners of the World", in Croatia. In 2024, she initiated and organised "Kino Oko", an open-air art cinema project in Istria, Croatia.

Nina is actively involved in the art and cultural sphere, from organising artistic workshops to participating in cultural event organisation. Her experiences living in Croatia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey, Belgium, and Italy, and being immersed in different cultural and linguistic environments, have shaped and influenced her artistic process and developed her interest in socio-political art practices. She believes art is a powerful medium through which we can build relationships between various complex realities and positions, create space for critical dialogue to occur, and challenge our understanding of important questions that relate to today’s socio-political climate.
