Astrology and Cooking workshop

Our first day of class began with looking at food and astrology as a way of thinking of the larger cosmologies in which all beings and non-beings vibrate together, guided by artist, researcher, writer, and astrologer Samah Hijawi.
Drawing on the idea that astrology can be a tool for generating acceptance, we focused on how each astrological sign functions, exploring their strengths and challenges, and how to work with these dynamics. We considered how our capacities and energies can be redistributed within a group, and how this might impact collective efforts in organising and working with our current moment.
Midday, we prepared a collective lunch. Each participant brought a dish that reminded them of home, sharing not only the food but also the stories of where we grew up before talking about Palestine, who gets to speak (or feels like speaking) and what we can do as a group.
