Opening: On New Ground by Gabrielle Barbé & Jean watt

On Thursday 24th April, Gabrielle Barbé’s On New Ground opens at MAP, a solo exhibition of textiles and photographs curated by Jean Watt.
The exhibition takes its cue from Mary Oliver’s poem 'Dream Work' (1986);
It could float, of course,
but would rather
plumb rough matter.
Airy and shapeless thing,
it needs
the metaphor of the body.
Barbé is currently completing her MA in Textile Design at KASK and Watt is studying on the Curatorial Studies Postgraduate programme.
