Infrastructures for Solidarity

Grains of Sand Like Moun­tains pre­sents an exten­si­ve public pro­gram­me at Kunst­hal Gent bet­ween 31st of May and 30th of June. On 22 June Dis­ar­ming Design orga­ni­ses a work­shop on infra­struc­tu­res for soli­da­ri­ty. After­wards we join the Ghent march for Gaza.

This reflec­ti­ve after­noon (13:00 — 15:00) with Dis­ar­ming Design from Pales­ti­ne* cen­tres on devel­o­ping infra­struc­tu­res for soli­da­ri­ty through design. The ses­si­on ​“Unpac­king Noti­ons and Buil­ding Threads” invi­tes par­ti­ci­pants to col­lec­ti­ve­ly come to terms with words and sta­te­ments for a ​‘Fair Glos­sa­ry,’ which del­ves into design infra­struc­tu­res, lan­gu­a­ge, and prac­ti­ces of soli­da­ri­ty.

Ghent march for Gaza

After­wards we join the Ghent March for Gaza, a new soli­da­ri­ty march through the his­to­ric cen­tre of Ghent.

After more than 8 months of geno­ci­de and ongo­ing vio­len­ce in Gaza and the West Bank, we must con­ti­nue to rai­se our voi­ces. We call for an end to geno­ci­de and demand acti­on from our govern­ments!

Practical

In order to wel­co­me you in the best pos­si­ble con­di­ti­ons, we will do our utmost best to make the events pleasant and as acces­si­ble as pos­si­ble. All of our events are orga­ni­sed in a relaxed man­ner — you can come and go whe­ne­ver you like. Howe­ver, scree­nings will start on time.

Kunst­hal Gent is wheel­chair acces­si­ble via the entran­ce ramp, but the first floor is only rea­cha­ble by stairs. A video of the upstairs exhi­bi­ti­on can be vie­wed on the ground floor.
